Oregon and Florida State’s battle for the No. 2 spot in the BCS standings — and a possible berth in the BCS Championship Game — has taken another turn, with the Seminoles riding their big win over previously undefeated Miami back to No. 2 in the third week of the 2013 standings.
With 1:40 to play in regulation and leading 14-7 in last years game against Stanford, Oregon sophomore cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu was involved in one of the most controversial plays of the 2012 season.
Down by a touchdown, Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan tossed a 10 yard scoring pass to Cardinal TE Zach Ertz with Ekpre-Olomu defending.
Always one to be generous with his time, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota met with reporters Saturday afternoon to discuss next Thursday’s clash with No. 5 Stanford.
Of course, the primary topic of this press briefing was last season’s devastating 17-14 loss to the Cardinal and what lesson’s Mariota may have learned from that defeat.
